AMEDEO MINGHI BACK TO "TEATRO GHIONE" BY POPULAR DEMAND

Following the great success of his previous concert seasons at the "Teatro Ghione" in Rome, Amedeo Minghi will return there to perform on december 9, 2013, at 9:00 p.m. with a special concert- recital entitled "Suoni tra ieri e domani". For the first time Amedeo will sing the songs he has composed for other singers, such as Andrea Bocelli, Anna Oxa, Gianni Morandi, Mia Martini, Rita Pavone, Franco Califano, Marcella Bella and others. He will be accompanied by the very talented pianist Cinzia Gangarella, who will play the songs in different, amazing keys.
In the second part of the recital, Amedeo Minghi will perform his most popular hits, as usual, accompanied by pianist Luca Perone, a long time member of Amedeo's orchestra.
On the same day, at 12:00 noon, Amedeo will meet with the members of his "PRIMULA FAN CLUB", who will have the pleasure to have lunch with him and exchange wishes for the upcoming Christmas season. For more information, write to: info@primulafanclub.it

  TEATRO GHIONE CONCERT DATE POSTPONED

Amedeo Minghi's concert of October 14, 2013, at the "Teatro Ghione", Rome, has been postponed, due to Amedeo's unexpected international engagements. He will leave for Brazil on October 1, 2013, for a series of concerts, and will return to Italy on October 12. If you have already bought the tickets for this concert, it can be used for any of the concert scheduled in the following months, as stated by the "Sanbiagio Produzioni", of "TEATRO GHIONE".

Thank you to all the members of our Fan Club who came to the fifth edition of the "Festival della Canzone Italiana di New York", held at "Christ the King Center", Middle Village, NY, on September 16, 2012. We were delighted to be present at this very enjoyable event, produced by the "Associazione Culturale Italiana di New York", whose jury was presided by "Amedeo Minghi.

In addition to performing his role as a "judge", Amedeo Minghi also charmed the public by singing a few of his greatest hits: "UN UOMO VENUTO DA LONTANO, the very beautiful and moving song dedicated to Pope John Paul II, CANTARE E' D'AMORE, 1950, CUORI DI PACE, and LA VITA MIA - a finale which brought the audience to their feet with a standing ovation. We also wish to express our gratitude to Amedeo who, before the beginning of the show, met with all of us with great warmth and affection. "Grazie di cuore, Amedeo, da tutti noi"!

Last but not least, our thanks to the "Associazione Culturale Italiana di New York", producer of the show, and to Tony Pasquale of ICN RADIO, for his great contribution as promotor of the event.

Amedeo Minghi will soon be taking a short trip to the world of wonders. Between March 18th and 20th, 2009, he will be a special guest of St. Michel, Normandy. On the morning of March 19th, at 10:00 a.m., Amedeo will sing in the Abbey of St. Michel his song dedicated to this little pearl of the west, after which, he will be awarded a medal by its Mayor. On February 2, 2008, Amedeo Minghi celebrated his career of 40 years in music with a concert held at the "Auditorium Conciliazione", under the auspices of the city of Rome. The event, entitled "“40 anni di me con voi - Cuori di pace in Medio Oriente” (40 years of me - Peaceful hearts in the Middle East) expressed effectively Amedeo's long lasting active concern and care for peace in the Holy Land. The concert hall was filled with spectators from different parts of Italy and also from abroad. Many illustrious guests participated in the event, including artists that have collaborated with Amedeo throughout the years. He sang "La marcia di Oronzo" with Lino Banfi, and "Vattene Amore" with Mietta. He performed in a duet with with Rossana Casale, interpreter of "Mio Nemico" in Fantaghiro'. He also performed with several other artists. Amedeo Minghi's concert took his audience on an emotional journey highlighted by the major hits of his long and prolific career, including the song dedicated to Pope John Paul II.
According to an article written by Filippo Alosi (member of Amedeo Minghi's cultural association "PRIMULA") for the newspaper "CORRIERE DI SICILIA", the audience's emotions intensified when Amedeo sung "Gerusalemme" with singers Gabriel Orit, from Israel, and Hakeem Abu Jaleela, from Palestine. Their voices and native languages added a magical touch to the performance, thus intensifying the inherent profound meaning of this contemplative song. Amedeo Minghi's dream to sing "Gerusalemme" with an Israeli and a Palestinian artist has finally been realized. His hard work and many efforts to this endeavor have been rewarded. NOVEMBER 5, 2007:   Amedeo Minghi composes the music score for a movie with Lino Banfi

"L'ALLENATORE NEL PALLONE 2", sequel to one of the most popular movies of the 80s, with Lino Banfi, is scheduled to be released soon after Christmas. This edition will see Anna Banfi as a co-protagonist. Many personalities from the real world of soccer will also participate in this sequel. Amedeo Minghi, who has been a great friend of Lino Banfi for many years, will be the author of the music score.


  On October 18, 2007 Rome's Prefect Carlo Mosca bestowed upon Amedeo Minghi the honorary title of "Commendatore al merito" of the Italian Republic. On Thursday, July 26, 2007, Amedeo Minghi received an Award in recognition of his career during the final ceremony of the XIX edition of the Literary Award "La Cultura del mare" held in S. Felice Circeo, at 7:00 p.m., in "Piazza Lanzuisi".


  LOUIS BRAILLE 2007 AWARD

On July 4th, 2007, Amedeo Minghi was a guest at the 12th Edition of the Louis Braille Award held in Rome at the Teatro Quirino. He performed his music piece 1950 with the accompaniment of the Symphonic Orchestra. This event will be broadcast by RAI 1 at a later date to be determined.

on March 26, 2007, Amedeo Minghi participated in the event "Girotondo per il Meyer" held in Florence at the "Teatro Saschall", at 9:00 p.m. It was an evening of solidarity organized by the association "Ciemmeesse" (CMS) with the support of the city of Florence, its province, and the region of Tuscany, to benefit the oncohematology center of the Anna Meyer children hospital in Florence.


  PALACONGRESSI - AGRIGENTO
on March 25, 2007, Amedeo Minghi gave a concert at the "Palacongressi" in Agrigento (Sicily), as part of the charity event "La mimosa d'oro aiutiamo l'Africa". The proceeds of all donations were given to the association "Il nome del padre" through its president, Claudia Koll.

  on Saturday, March 10, 2007, Amedeo Minghi and the group "Khorakhane" were guests of the TV program "Sabato in famiglia", aired live at 9:10 a.m. on RAI DUE. The "Khorakhane" won first place at the "Sanremo lab - song academy", and have subsequently participated in the recent 2007 Sanremo Song Festival under the production of Amedeo Minghi and his label "L'immenso Edizioni Musicali".


  February 25, 2007 - PREMIO ALLA CARRIERA (Career Award)
The judges of the literary contest "Il Mulinello" have assigned the special "Premio alla carriera" (Career Award) to Amedeo Minghi for his book "L'ascolteranno gli americani" published by Rai-Eri. The award, promoted by the the administration of the city of Rapolano Terme and supported by the President of Italy, the Region of Toscana, and the Province of Siena, will be presented to Amedeo On Saturday, March 17, 2007, at 5:00 p.m. at the Teatro del popolo" in Rapolano Terme".

AMEDEO MINGHI's VISITS TO THE UNITED STATES

  0CTOBER 9, 2006 - AMEDEO MINGHI JOINS ITALIAN AMERICANS IN THEIR CELEBRATION OF COLUMBUS DAY IN NEW YORK CITY

Amedeo Minghi was invited by the Columbus Citizen Foundation to perform on the red carpet at the NEW YORK FIFTH AVENUE COLUMBUS DAY PARADE on Monday, October 9, 2006. He was also invited to attend other festive events that preceeded the parade, such as the Sponsor and Media Party and Concert at Grand Central Station, on October 6th, and the Columbus Weekend Gala Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Grand Ballroom, on October 7th. Wherever he went, Amedeo was given a very warm reception and was followed with great interest by the media who photographed him and interviewed him on different occasions.
The 62nd annual Columbus Parade, on October 9, was spectacular. It was a day for Italian Americans to show their pride in their heritage, and they succeeded in doing so. The parade started on 44th Street and ended on 79th Street. Thirtyfive thousands people of Italian origin marched on Fifth Avenue led by General Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is estimated that about one million people were present. Many watched by the sidelines an interminable procession of exquisite floats, music bands, marching bands representing various schools, Italian-American Cultural Associations, Italian and American Armed Forces - and all highlighted by the presence of many dignitaries including New York City's mayor, Michael Bloomberg, Governor George Pataki, Senator Hilary Clinton, Senator Chuck Schumer, Consul General of Italy in New York, Antonio Bandini, and Louis Tallarini, President of the Columbus Citizens Foundation which, every year, organizes this wonderful event. . The parade was enhanced by the performance of several artists on the "red carpet" at the corner of 69th St. and 5th Ave. And here, is where Amedeo made his grand entrance!

As soon as Amedeo arrived to the red carpet aboard a bright yellow Lamborghini car, he was greated with a roaring applause. Especially pleased were his American fans who came to see him with the anticipation of hearing him sing one of their favorite songs, and they were not disappointed. As soon as Amedeo began singing LA VITA MIA, they could hardly contain their joy. They jumped from their seats with excitement, cheering and applauding throughout the performance and after. Amedeo, clearly moved by their enthusiasm, walked to the grandstand where many of them were sitting, shook hands with them, posed for a few group pictures, and granted the wish of those individuals who wanted to capture this unforgettable event by being photographed alone with him.

It was a great day for all Italian-Americans and, undoubtedly, it was also a memorable day for Amedeo and all his fans not only in the United States, but also those in other parts of the world who, thanks to the American television network NBC, and RAI INTERNATIONAL, were able to see Amedeo performing at this great event.

At the end of the parade, I was approached by several people, including some who were not familiar with Amedeo Minghi's music. All expressed words of praise and appreciation for his performance.

Needless to say, as soon as I arrived home that day, I found several phone and e-mail messages conveying the same feelings of appreciation. THANK YOU, AMEDEO, FOR YOUR WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE AND THE CARING YOU ALWAYS SHOW FOR YOUR FANS! I also wish to thank the Columbus Citizen Foundation for inviting Amedeo Minghi to perform at this very important event celebrating Italian culture. Last but not least, my heartfelt thanks to Massimo and Maria Teresa from Bologna and to all the members of our Fan Club who came to the parade and showed their appreciation of Amedeo Minghi's music with such great enthusiasm. Unfortunately, for reasons beyond her control, she was not able to come to the parade.   MARCH 15, 2006 - AMEDEO MINGHI MET WITH THE MEMBERS OF HIS FAN CLUB U.S.A.


On Wednesday, March 15, 2006, many members of our Fan Club had the privilege to spend an evening with Amedeo Minghi at our residence where we held a special welcoming reception in his honor. Amedeo, who had been performing in two concerts in Canada at the Niagara Falls Casino Resort, on March 11 and 12, took a special trip to New York City to meet with us and to explore the possibilities of future concerts in New York. The reception was also attended by Domenico Delli Carpini, journalist of "AMERICA OGGI", Nino and Rosa Magarelli, hosts of "CIAO ITALY", on WRHU (Radio Hofstra University), and by Mena and Tony Pasquale hosts of "POMERIGGIO CON TE" on ICN Radio.

Amedeo's entrance was greeted with great enthusiasm and a roaring applause. It was hard to believe that he was actually here! During our past reunions, our members only had the pleasure to talk to him on the phone. This time, he was here, in person. He had gone out of his way to be with us, and his effort was much appreciated. Amedeo, visibly moved, responded very warmly to the welcoming greeting of his fans, and expressed his desire and hope to perform in New York City in a not too distant future. He, then, spoke of his present projects which include a platinum collection of 48 of his songs, scheduled to be released at the end of this month (March, 2006), and the publishing of his book entitled "L'ascolteranno gli americani", a line taken from one of his most famous song "1950", to be presented at the TORINO BOOK FAIR, in May, 2006. Later on, he also showed us a trailer of a DVD, soon to be released, of a concert he gave in Rome on 5/22/2003 which included the beautiful song "UN UOMO VENUTO DA LONTANO", dedicated to Pope John Paul II. After the opening remarks, Amedeo shook hands with each person present and engaged in conversation with them. All were impressed by his lack of airs, his friendliness and his genuine appreciation of their admiration and interest in his music.

The atmosphere was festive and warm. Amedeo's affability, his wonderful music in the background, a variety of different foods and delicious desserts, all contributed to make this evening very special and memorable. Thank you, Amedeo, for making this possible! And thank you to all who came. Your presence, your support and enthusiasm was very much appreciated. Grazie di cuore!

  NOVEMBER 1st, 2001 - AN ENCHANTING NIGHT IN THE HEART OF MANHATTAN

On THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1st, 2001, AMEDEO MINGHI performed in a benefit concert at the MANHATTAN CENTER STUDIOS, in New York City. The concert, entitled "RINASCERE INSIEME", featured three other Italian artists: Riccardo Fogli, Enrico Ruggeri e Roberto Vecchioni, and was organized by RADIO ITALIA. It was sponsored by the Italian Region of Lombardy and various Italian organizations as a gesture of friendhip and solidarity with the people of New York City, after the tragic events of September 11th, and as an expression of solidarity with the Italian-American community of New York City.
Many of Amedeo Minghi's fans in the United States had the opportunity to hear him sing in person and, perhaps, for the first time.




The concert was an enormous success. The theater, which holds three thousand seats, was packed. The people who attended came by invitation. Our Fan Club was well represented even though we could only have a limited number of seats reserved for us.

Amedeo Minghi enchanted the audience with five songs from his repertoire: LA VITA MIA, I RICORDI DEL CUORE, SERENELLA, UN UOMO VENUTO DA LONTANO, and his latest hit COSI SEI TU. As soon as he entered the stage, he was received by a warm, sustained applause. after the first few notes of LA VITA MIA, many people stood in appreciation of this wonderful song. The excitement of the fans was clearly visible throughout Amedeo's performance.
At the end of the concert, many fans had the pleasure to meet with Amedeo personally and leave with an autograph from the artist they so much admire. We also had a chance to pose for a few group pictures.





Following are a few comments by members of our Fan Club who attended the concert:

"Thank you for the opportunity to participate at this wonderful event. I enjoyed the concert immensely. The artists were all great, especially Amedeo Minghi; I would have liked to stay afterwards to meet him, but it ended quite late and I had to make my way home. Perhaps for another time."


"I just wanted to thank you again for the invitation. I enjoyed watching Minghi's performance, as well as the others. I think everybody in the audience went to the show just to hear Minghi and "la vita mia." The people around me sat up to full attention when the first chords of the song were heard."


"It is almost 11:00pm and I just returned home from the concert. First let me just say that I thought he was fabulous. It is the first time I saw him in concert and he struck me as very "young" on stage, which is always a good sign. I thought he made a perfect selection out of his repertory. It's been awhile I played Amedeo's CD's but the next couple of weeks you can be rest assured that I'll be playing them for a long time. Grazie, grazie, grazie!!"

On behalf of all the members of our Fan Club who attended the concert, I wish to thank you, Amedeo, for your beautiful songs and for sharing with us moments we will always remember. For one night we forgot our troubles and were able to escape into your magical world of music. Thank you!
